About

The biography of a quiet practice.

Basab Bijay Sarkar has spent thirty years drawing charts, asking careful questions, and saying very little until it is necessary. This is the rest of the story.

A note on lineage

Trained under Pandit S. N. Bhattacharya in the classical Parashari tradition; refined through years of independent case work.

Basab Bijay Sarkar was born in Kolkata in the early 1960s, into a family where the natal chart was less an oracle than a quiet piece of household furniture — consulted in the way one might consult an old physician, only when there was a real question.

He came to formal practice in 1994, after almost a decade of private study. His approach blends classical Vedic astrology with a contemporary psychological sensibility: he is interested less in prediction than in temperament, timing, and the choices the client is already, somewhere, preparing to make.

The work itself

A consultation is unhurried — sixty to ninety minutes — and it is conducted in plain language. There are no formulae read out, no charts thrust under the client's eye. The chart is the score; the conversation is the music.

Most clients come by referral, and most return. Some return for decades. The case load is intentionally small.

What this is not

This is not a marketplace. There are no apps to download, no monthly horoscopes, no group sessions. There is only a person, a chart, and an hour or two of careful attention.

Principles

Three things, kept.

Confidentiality, absolutely.
Nothing said in session leaves it. No client list is published. No testimonial is attributed without permission.
Plain speech.
If a thing cannot be said simply, it is not yet understood. Charts are translated into the language the client lives in.
A small practice.
The case load is kept small on purpose. Every consultation is prepared for personally, the morning of.
